This is very interesting because you can interpret this dream feeling in different ways. What if the scout develops anxiety because they know they're forgetting something, and they want to remember it? What if the scout develops anxiety because they almost miss the island... and it's because they subconsciously miss the phantom? What if the scouts develop anxiety because if their island memories feels more like a dream, what if it happens again in their daily routine? Etc etc. Lots of potential in developing this anxiety and how it affects each scout who met the phantom

Okay so I have. Some main plot points in my head I guess
I think Tilly and Marcus (the siblings) were originally going to … idk someplace with the rest of their scout group … but when the plane crashed either everyone else died or they both got washed a bit further down the beach, so the survivors got split up from eachother. But that’s how they got on the island.
I think the same thing happened to Sam, (plane /boat crash) but he had it worse since he woke up without anyone and had no food or water ,,, I say possibly a cannibal bc to him he was really eating chicken, it’s just after a few weeks of starving and drinking coconut water he happens to find a ton of chicken scattered around places. I haven’t really thought out the island and what causes everything but I would say his diet contributes to him becoming more scoutmaster like,,, like lord of the flies he goes feral or smth see am . Lost already in my bad ideas

Okay but anyways past the backstory, Tilly and Marcus eventually find the scoutmasters journal and follow his advice to climb higher, getting past the shore area with only a few mishaps
They get to tropics, and while taking a break they encounter Sam! Who’s like very territorial and scary to them at first, but Sam’s really just curious so he does follow them as they climb. (Tilly is more friendly to Sam than Marcus, although she was the most scared at first)
Okay err. I don’t know when it happens but I think at one point during the climb on tropics Marcus climbs a ledge, as since it’s raining Tilly slips off the edge while trying to climb up and Marcus can’t save her in time,,, ough. Her death isn’t shown to him bc he doesn’t want to look but all he sees is like wet rainwater blood at the bottom ledge where she lies. Super super traumatic I feel bad for him,,, umm. I don’t rlly know how he copes with this but I think he wouldn’t move for hours and then slowly start to climb up the mountain.

Eventually he reaches the peak, and unintentionally activates the statue that brings scouts back from the dead. Tilly doesn’t know what happened so she’s happy to see her brother but Marcus is incredibly scarred and now is much much more cautious and unwilling to let Tilly make dangerous jumps or climbs. I think that’s all I have planned rn I think I might change everything bc I hate it a lot. It’s so trash…. Ad lore… am tweaking bru h
