The first sentence.

“Behold the stars… so fair, so cold, so far.” - Meaning that we’ve been introduced by the stars, yet they seem harmless. But the main reason why, is because they are a dying star; that’s why the line “so cold.” And with obviously the line “so far.” Is because they are far from us — like so far from our planet, from our solar system.

“Each gleam a ghost of what they truly are.” While they are dying stars, they are still present in our sight. Like how in scary movies or novels how the person is dead but we can see a ghost. So the stars are dead, but we can still see them — as ghosts.

“A burning heart, now broken, torn, undone.” How a dying star creates — it explodes, and now broken by pieces. And it can’t be fixed - it can’t go back the way it was before.

“It’s final cry still wandering from the sun.” This one was more trying to rhyme with undone. Because yes, stars don’t usually be close to the sun, so it’s far from the sun. The final cry part — it’s the star final moment before becoming a dying one.

The second sentence!

“We gaze in awe, yet see but death’s last flame.” We only grew up, and been told that the stars are beautiful when they shine, we’ve never been told it’s a star dying. Yes, it’s beautiful, so stargaze to watch it die.

“A requiem sung in heaven’s name.” poetic way — it sung its last song, to reach its way in heaven. Idfk it’s 3am.

“And still their fading sparks bestow us peace.” We can’t hear it when it explodes - no sound in space. But we are grateful that it offers us the quietness and the look of the dying star.

“In dying fire, eternal release.” Means that even though a star dies in an explosion, its light and energy keep traveling forever through the universe.
