roots, some spore areas (red clouds) are easily ran though. don't be afraid to take some spore damage, though if its gets too much obviously get out of there
tropics, you can climb on the undersides of some trees (specifically the leaves, you can grab onto the body of the tree but you'll slide down no matter what), and be mindful of beehives if you're starving (1 hive = 4 honeycombs, which are decently nourishing and give a lot of bonus stamina)
mesa, be mindful of where shadows are during the day to avoid heat, and keep an eye out for aloe vera (small greenish plant, mild hunger relief, but mainly used for heat dmg) as well as cactus fruit. thorns diminish over time (prickleberries give a small amount of thorns which goes away quick)
alpine, don't forget you can avoid the blizard by hiding inside thickets of trees (parts with dead branchy bushes and regular bushes are even better, and the bigger a big trees leaves are, the better). Some trees also carry winterberries. You can also avoid the blizard by getting low enough in a crevasse (or if you're at the main part of the climb, going further in towards the ice will also make you immune)

by the by does anyone know if sunscreen can be used to negate heat damage in the caldera?

don't answer that, i've found out (it is mesa-exclusive, makes sense)

i managed to clip myself out of the map and jump off the edge

and curiously

there is a day/night cycle this far down, but it doesn't trigger until you jump off the map

my scout is falling so fast my headset cannot tell which side this deafening wind is coming from

and my limbs are moving so quickly that even screenshots cannot register them, they outpace a screenshot

i barely got the impression of one here but you can definitely clearly see them flailing in person
