If you have enough food you can always just drop all items and pass out each morning and then the cold tick will disappear. Otherwise lantern at shore is your best friend. I personally do challenge runs so i go through shore before the first night hits. Then try to use it sparingly in tropics as a pray for a scorchberry or 2

They're referring to how a while ago there were certain situations where being maxed out would not actually make you pass out. It was determined by what status effects you had. You had to get to 102.5 to start the wobble and pass out.

I should probably stop using Book of Bones because of how much it trivializes the ascent challenges. I found 2 this run. Turned myself at Shore, then turned back at the Peak for no reason.

What do levels do?

Levels are simply a way to track your progress after getting all or most of the accolades. They do nothing and will always do nothing, this is not supposed to give you an advantage. Someone with level 1 is the exact same as someone level 100, one just shows they've practised alot with the mod on.
