Overpacking food I think is a good thing. It allows you to feel more comfortable taking your time and not rushing through the map. It also forces you to be less item reliant because you don’t have space for them. In the short term it doesn’t truly help tho

I dropped my bag of coconuts and scaled half of tropics without even touching the ground and resetting my stamina. Truly you can stay grabbed on the wall for minutes. I HAVE SO much Stamina!

So the maps update daily and they are the same for everyone, I'd recommend just playing on Peak difficulty and messing around with everything. Use all items to get a good understanding of them, eat all foods to see if they are good or bad and get a good idea of what effects they have. Fail a lot until you succeed
