just figured some of those general tips could answer your question

You never need to use tools and you never need to use your full stamina bar. You should focus on learning how to identify routes that allow this. Try to find the densest parts of the map and stick with them as long as you can. The more cluttered an area is, the more ledges there are, the less stamina you need.

Don't be afraid to backtrack though. If you've exhausted your route and can't find the next step, try another route. Before you do that, though, try moving laterally. You can often continue a climb with just a little horizontal movement.

There's a range near the top that's usually pretty dry. The edges are best for that section

I'm rarely dead-center. Pick a side. You might naturally end up on the opposite side by the end of the climb, but staying center often isn't the best idea.

yeah i normally go left for shore/tropics/roots since thats what i see has the most potential but when it comes to alpine, i normally start center and go from there. mesa i try to find an arching pillar that goes up about 1/3 of the way. if not, i just pick the side im on after crossing the gorge

Most people take a lantern from the plane to help with cold nights.

But also, the cold you getting during night adds up to 100% of your stamina bar. If you are to top up on food and drop all of your items before passing out you will survive perfectly fine without warming up at all.

That's why you should take Trail Mix over Granola Bars, and never cook them.

This is terrible, short of having friends join you through your profile, there is no way to join or host games on the steam deck...
steam disabled the overlay functionality for the controller in desktop mode, and it just isn't there in gaming mode.

There is Tenderfoot (easy), Peak difficulty (normal) then Ascents 1 - 7

Too easy imo, only recommend it for people who are realllllly struggling with Peak difficulty

Depends on the generation for the day. Alpines has the biggest variance of difficulty of any biome and Mesa can sometimes really suck if you run into 30 dead ends 😄
