The best items mainly for speedrunning are lollipops, claw, energy drinks, and rope cannons mostly. Additionally you'll want to try to farm 1 or 2 items to help you sprint through Caldera such as Pandora's, Cure All, Sports drink, or Milk.

I wouldn't touch a Piton with a 10ft pole and chain launchers are very situational.

I'm not a big fan of Aggro Climb. I think It is faster to do medium/large Dolphin Climb without spending all your stamina, then Spider tech and correct at the end with double lunge or double lunge + piano clip

Dolphin is absolutely better when you can do it, but for climbs that are too long, there's never a reason not to use Aggro. it's literally just faster than climbing normally

Aggro climb is actually simpler than I've been doing it apparently

But the way I do it allows it to still be used on some less even surfaces

I've been doing it like spider climb but pressing only forward and facing directly into the wall

This made it way easier to mess up and spend large amounts of stamina by accident

theres a 5 min cooldown in that chat anyway so most likely ppl wont reply to questions etc

ascents are difficulty modifiers, its still the same daily map but with added difficulties.

you unlock ascent 1 after completing peak difficulty and so on
they add stuff to the game like extra hunger, takes more stamina to climb, not having flares at the end so having to bring your own from the start etc ect
each ascent also includes the difficulty multiplers of the previous ones

you can still join others that are a higher ascent than you, but just be aware it will be more challenging
