Most important thing for time is routing. Being able to identify a route that's possible for your current skill level that goes more or less as straight up as possible.

After that would probably be learning tech that both increases climbing speed as well as opening up new possible faster routes.

Then you have items and learning when/how to use them to get the most from them. I suck at this, a lot of the time I just don't use them x)

Finally, stamina management. The ability to identify how much stamina you need to climb and limiting how much you're just standing still. I also don't really do this anymore because it's draining on my poor simple brain.

Some things that most newer players struggle most with are their routing, understanding what you can/cannot climb, and that food is more important than having 3 pitons. Bonus, new players probably lose more runs than they think because they feel obligated to open every luggage they see no matter how far away it is. Stop doing that.

That's definitely fine for brand new players. Important you get familiar with a lot of the items and mechanics of the game. That info is more for people who have already peaked a few times and just want to get faster and more consistent

2. How can I locate one without triggering their aggro? I tried to go through the Roots a few times on my own but I got jump scared by one and a panicked and closed out the game (Shameful, I know). I only ask this because I'm attempting the undead encounter badge, but I mainly want to avoid them whenever possible on future trips.
3. I heard when the biome was first released, zombies were more common and even more aggressive before the nerf. Is this true?

2. as long as you dont look near or directly at them, they wont aggro
