Alpine has very linear routes most of the time, which you can usually identify when you first entire the biome.
You don't need to wait for blizzards. There are plenty of items to counter them and knowing its actual mechanics will allow you to be mostly unaffected by them even while climbing.
If you ever starve, in any circumstance unless you're doing something like Ascent 7 Pyro Coconut Challenge, it's entirely your fault. No legitimate food RNG results in starvation unless you choose not to manage your food or inventory with any foresight at all
