no. spider tech uses the fact that regrabbing at or below your height uses less stamina than grabbing upwards. trying to spider tech directly up just burns your stamina. However, if you do it really well at a horizontal angle, you can actually gain some height.

its not, usually the areas with spores have a way that leads upwards, its not good to be there for long, but as long as you are quick you can get out without too many, its not life or death if you take a few spores on your way up.
