For the achievement using a cannon (Wich is the daredevil badge) you should find a high point next to the canyon and just angel it correctly, even if you don't make it fully over the canyon if it's close enough once you get out of the canyon it should give you the achievement

Mesa is just a giant maze, alpine's seeds are usually pretty easy if you know what youre doing
