overall I'd say climbing items are pretty safe to leave behind, like maybe keep 1 for an emergecny or something where you just cant get up no matter what you do
generally hoarding items will be the biggest reason someone fails in peak imo
food you can usually find pretty plentifully except for when in kiln where its just luggage luck
