I ran in caldera and at times it just stops working for me. I would have to put it way and take it back out to get it working, or bail out by getting to a safe spot.

If it does not do that for you, then I am glad and assume it is a problem on my end.

For me, the idol is held and at some point while burning to death (not), I start taking damage as if the idol lost its power.
I thought it has a limit or something, but holding it back out again gives me immunity again.

I did not trust this sketchy immunity, so used it sparingly.
