Too often I find myself at dead ends in the Mesa's caves, often resorting to backtrack or use tools. Not to mention that the scorching sun makes observing the outer routes rather risky during the day. Also, the Alpine's item drops (lanterns and heat packs) are designed specifically to counter the cold (the drinks that counter heat can spawn anywhere).

Honestly I glaze mesa only because alpines screw your climbing
Like the rock is for climbing and colored surface (sand grass snow) for standing
So in alpines snow should indicate where you can stand but it DOESN'T and I often find myself falling or wasting extra stamina trying to reach snow that turns out to be unstandable

Hypothetically speaking.

Would it be cruel for a harder challenge to include lingering injuries?

Think of this:

• you land too hard and you sprained your foot, now you walk with a limp and struggle to run.
• you cut your hand on a thorn and have trouble gripping the wall as you climb.
• you hit your head too hard and you are disoriented.
• you fall and break a limp. if it is an arm, you can't climb at all. if it is a leg, you are crippled.
• you burn yourself and are more sensitive to pain due to the raw wound.

There would be more ways to heal scouts with injuries like these. And tools to help climbing while injured like harnesses.
But the idea is that the injuries are more consequential and not as easy to dispatch with healing items.

I always found the mushroom achievement extremely hard for no reason 😭, like I'd have runs were im only looking for mushrooms and find NOTHING
