Tank what? Generally you want to tank everything when going fast. For example, brute-force blizzards. Just be careful with how you run through them to minimize your exposure.

Oh. Tools are a case-by-case basis. For example, it's often a good idea to rope tech up something if you're regenerating your stamina because it can save you a second or two.
Regarding reserve stamina, burn it all. You dont need it.

100% grab rope cannons and chains when you find them though. Each one can save you anywhere from 5 to 40+ seconds.
Pitons aren't worth it because you generally want to avoid long uninterrupted climbs in favor of smaller, short bursts where you can grab and instalunge several times.

When I get home in about 2 and a half hours, I can show you a recording of my sub 30 so you can see some examples.

If you beat peak you unlock Ascent 1, wich is the base map but with an added modifier to make it morw dificult, after you beat that u unlock ascent 2 wich is all prwvious modifieres plus one new one, and so one till ascent 7

difficulty. someone explained it to you before that, but you unlock it after you finish the default difficulty on the airport kiosk. it adds debuffs like increased hunger, fall damage perma death etc.

Depends on what kind of fog. Are you playing Tenderfoot or an ascent? There's border fog, which is just the edge of the map, and the one that gives you the freezing effect

my main gripe is that when it does catch up to you you can't see anything, which is frustrating and leads to more "guess i'll die" situations than being able to clutch up by the skin of one's teeth

peak is one of my favorite implementations of "achievements". instead of being some arbitrary task that breaks immersion, it actually makes the game more immersive with the connection to the narrative.
you're a scout and you gotta do these arbitrary things to complete your badges and fill out your sash, which you can then show off to others.

Just wear sunscreen, or block the sun with the parasol, backpack, or ancient idol. Alternatively, you can carry coconuts, sports drinks, or aloe vera to heal burn damage. There are a few other fruits and other items that can also heal burn damage
