Items are important, but don't get too distracted. If your choice is going off on a detour for a brown luggage or just continuing to take an easy staircase, keep climbing.

Also, don't just sit still while it's raining/snow storming if you could be moving or scouting a path. The rain slows you down but you can still lunge through it for short climbs, and the snowstorm isn't a huge threat until you need to take an extended exposed climb.

What Hungy said. Current map is great for it. Just spend a couple of attempts finding a path. Shoot for Alpine by day 2-3. Once you have that, just try a couple times and you'll get it.

This too 100%. Don't be afraid to burn reserve energy. You don't actually need it and any use that speeds you up is the best possible use for it

Release climbing or dolphin climbing is huge in the rain for mid size walls. Just grab release, grab higher repeat. Full stamina should yield you 3-4 of those then if you time a jump at the end you can make great distance even in the rain

Double lunge is great too. Just do a final dolphin climb when you have no stamina and lunge at the same time. Don't do it when you have reserve though, you'll just burn it for no gain

Mesa you gotta book it past the tornados and then take it slow, avoiding the sun as best you can
Alpine always be ready to duck into a crevice, and don't be afraid to use stuff if needed.
