and yes, even if you haven't beaten higher ones you can skip them by joining a high ascent lobby (although I'd recommend doing them normally)

Just a tip for falling in general, if you can, jump down.
Jumping makes you take less fall damage than just walking off a cliff

its more of the fact that you the game suspends you in air for whatever reason (like sliding really slowly sort of thing) and then fall damage is taken when you hit the floor when it really shouldn't

wait out the rain. don't be afraid to go down before going back up. don't be afraid to use items - item hoarding doesn't benefit you in this game

Cant remember if bosses having special stuff is locked to honor mode or tactician & honor mode both, but honestly tactician is better to do first rather than honormode since its more forgiving with the saves

yeah some of the configurations are gnarly. sometimes there are some inner caves you can climb through. if you're not already on tenderfoot, it's always helpful to go back to tenderfoot and do a run or two to scout the biome - just keep in mind you get more stamina on tenderfoot, so make sure you map out paths where on tenderfoot you still have stamina to spare

oh yeah - don't underestimate the vines - they use far less stamina than you'd expect. also if you get a bit of momentum and jump down to one, you can slide a good portion of the vine which is fast and cheap on stamina
