the tornadoes feel extremely unfair to the no fall damage achievement, they're too fast to predict or meaningfully do anything about even casually, they just appear out of nowhere (sometimes with more than 1 out at a time which is totally unpredictable), and they feel like they can do anything between nothing and just killing you

The main issue for me is: what can you look for to learn them? do they have any sort of pattern? if they do, it isn't clear at all, and with a whole friendgroup that agrees about how unpredictable and difficult to deal with they are I don't think the way that it is right now can be considered easy to learn

Stay near walls (which you should do anyway), prioritize getting to canyon above running directly away (they tend to move side to side across Mesa, not going forward and back much), and they don't at all go to the left edge of the map.

The game gives you plenty of ways to deal with the cold. You spawn with a lantern, you just passed a biome with tons of scorchberries, and if you have 3 or more people in the lobby, you can stand next to each other to fully remove the cold.

Also, you should burn yourself with the campfire when you're approaching a biome at night

Happened to me before, but the answer is to always be darting from cover to cover. That way you avoid the sun and can latch onto the wall if a tornado spawns.

And if you do get caught out, have a first aid kit just in case.

Ye that's how I usually do it. Just hold on to the wall and don't move until the tornado has passed. Sometimes you can get unlucky and it can slurp you out, but you can usually see the way the tornado is moving and react to that.

i did!! while Mesa got its sunburn and tornado. Alpine is somehow frustrating bcs i navigate by looking surface-like texture to stand on and replenish my stamina which usually with look like dirt(u know like theres walls and theres dirt that you can stand on). but ini alpine theres places that i thought that is a surface bcs it got some snow on it then end up not actually a surface at all!

But the scoutmaster puts them there! That's why there's times when you don't get all 4 for every player when you reach the campfire. This usually means that someone left other players behind and the Scoutmaster subtracts a marshmallow or 2

asc5+ on mesa is worse than alpine. you get options to warm yourself in alpine, including geyser vents and hot spring. but mesa, you have nothing to counter the cold other than your lantern, portable stove, and scorchberries. idk if lanterns even spawn in mesa.

It's usually just due to a bugged lobby - all players need to leave the lobby and create a new one.

Other reasons it can be caused include different game versions (e.g. one on beta, one on base game), incompatible/outdated mods, or pc firewalls etc if it happens consistently
