LNT is not terribly hard as long as you pack light, i find its quite easy to do if you just take as much food as you can carry in your inventory and dont use backpack

in the caldera and kiln I find that taking some heat damage to ensure you move forward is a good way to go. I used to avoid the heat like the plague but that would cost me some runs

On tenderfoot you can skip most luggages and just go as fast as you can since you wont get hungry too fast, just plan out your route a bit ahead of time and you should get there

Kay well this ended up long, but this is the difficulty of each section for me!! (emphasis that this is for me, yall can have different opinions lol)

• EASIEST: Shore. I can take nearly any route up there and be fine. Plenty of luggage, plenty of food. Quick n easy!
• Caldera is next easiest. I've only died there once, and it's because I was being intentionally stupid in a game with friends :) It's my favorite area- I LOVE jumping around between chains and looking for eggs!
• Mesa is also pretty alright. I don't find too many problems with it. Antlions, tornadoes, dynamite and scorpions ain't that bad imo, as long as I have an escape route in mind. And lots of luggage is around! But, I'm still getting down the skill of route planning/visibility on that main cliff-face/caves. I run into dead ends a LOT. (My first mesa was yesterday, like many newcomers). Yay for cooked scorpion. (Also, the tomb is fun when open, with some preparation!!)
• Tropics is next. I love finding food in the tropics, and usually don't have too much issue? But when it's tough, it's TOUGH. Long stretches, sometimes, and unpredictable rain. Also, the walkable surfaces feel less predicatable? sometimes I swear that grass should be walkable, but nooooope.
• Alpine: sparkly walkable surfaces are hard to predict. The windchill isn't so bad, but sometimes food can be challenging going up that main face, and sometimes there are really annoying long stretches you have to brute-force. And luggage is pretty sparse once you get going up. My friends are always dying there 😭
• HARDEST: Kiln. FUN! but objectively hardest. Sucks sometimes LOL. I do really like how visible the walkable surfaces are, and I love the vibe and challenge. But if you don't commit, or mess up a jump, it sucks just falling into lava and having no recourse. And visibility can be tough if you work your way into a corner. And also tiny surfaces make climbing with friends a bit of a challenge when they all come to follow you and then almost shove you off your ledge, lol!

i have no clue why caldera comes so easily to me. But I have always just loved it (and hoarded enough food to make it through). Must be the "go crazy or go home" mindset LMFAO

Shockingly kiln and caldera are usually the easiest for me. I can usually nail kiln with little to no issue if I’m able to bring at least 1 chain launcher and have full energy and at least 1 spare food (typically a honeycomb I save from tropics)

Each biome has a sort of 'formation' that it generates around; the most obvious is entering the middle of alpine where the temp pitons spawn and youre protected from blizzards. Try to learn them since things like the corners of the tropics are usually dead ends

You get the same map for 24 hours. Then it switches to a new one for everyone at the same time! Food placement and luggage contents and weather patterns vary between each playthrough, but the map will be the same. It will always be Shore -> Tropics -> Mesa/Alpine (alternates each day) -> Caldera -> Kiln -> Peak. The "14 maps" thing just refers to the dev's schedule. They pick out 14 maps every 2 weeks. So, a different map for each day of the next 2 weeks. That make sense? :)

Ok so generally, natural foods. I might be a little off and there may be exceptions, but stuff like coconuts, marshmellows, eggs, berries/shrooms, honeycomb, etc.
NOT packaged/ "artificial" foods- those are just once. So, trail mix, thick mints, granola, airline food, drinks/sodas, lollipops, etc.
And don't forget to cook your bandages and med kits!

Its thorns which means you got pricklies in ya. You probably got thrown into a cactus, maybe by a tornado
