U prob wont struggle much with the ascents. Although during ascent 4+ being the flare you get at the start with you. Or else when you reach the peak you can't win.

i just walk up a little onto the shore, not far at all just a little past the airplane wing so it's more leveled. aim it all the way up and drag 2-3 clicks down (i always do 3). also place it so it kinda aims in the middle of the map, not to any side. spam the play dead from the second you shoot out of the canon. when youre at the peak light the flare and keep playing dead, stop here and there to get the countdown but continously play dead when it starts otherwise you might fall and die

i think mesa asc5+ nights are harder than alpine asc5+ nights but i also just run Gold Bingbong to the top at any difficulty to completely ignore basically all of those mechanics soo whatever

you can prestack heat in the mesa day before going into night and that is a good play, but mesa has less natural heat sources and less heat loot than alpine (Heat pack, lantern, lava, geysers all rarer or not even spawning in MESA)
