You can deploy the shortest possible rope above/ahead of you on a wall you want to climb but you're not sure you can do without using extra stamina. You're not deploying it very far, the idea is that when you're standing below the rope you can still snap to it, then start climbing, essentially getting you a "stamina free" jump

i dont think its 50/50 for alps and mesa because the maps roll out in a predetermined order, not randomly.
if you ignore this fact and assume the map pool is 50% mesa maps and 50% alpine maps, and then shuffle the pool without knowing contents, it still won't be a 50/50 because after the first map the odds change (since maps dont repeat until either an update or a full cycle, you can consider them "removed from the pool" temporarily) To describe our current situation with that assumption, the "chance" of mesa from day to day actually increases with each consecutive alpine map

predetermined order, this predetermined order couldve been made randomly as well but what i mean is that on any day you know which maps are next (Maps are visited by incrementing seed, NOT randomly) so its not very random to you and the 50/50 of maps disappears (every day it becomes 100/0)
