My recommendation: Vulkan is normally suitable for less powerful PCs, as it uses fewer CPU resources. DX12 uses more, but is very reliable on new PCs when the game is made well (which Peak is). I asked around my groups before your reply and it seems like DX12 and Vulkan have very similar performance for my friends, but we all have Desktops. Give a solo run a try with Vulkan, and if it runs smoothly you're good. If it crashes or stutters, give DX12 a try. Feel free to try DX12 first and Vulkan second, too.

Some of the thorns can be difficult to remove depending on their placement but you can usually get a lot of them quite easily yourself
