Depends which horn. Regular bugle at the capybaras is an achievement/badge. Scoutmaster's Bugle gives a lot of stamina and spawns the scoutmaster. Bugle of Friendship gives infinite stamina.

summary of my "luck" today:

I fell to the beginning of alpine, somehow survived and made it up and got rewarded with the scoutmaster's bugle
then in kiln, I fell all the way to the beginning of kiln and had to use 2 cure alls and a yellow winterberry to climb again, then I jumped over a terrible gap with lava right at the edge and took a billion burn damage and just barely able to use another yellow winterberry before passing out

If you're wanting to keep progressing through Ascents then the easiest way to learn is do Tenderfoot and find the perfect path.
More you learn the current seed the quicker your Ascent run will be.

I've played on tenderfoot once ever, I truly reccomend playing on default difficulty always. Tenderfoot is good for exploration but I think default is rlly good for learning and building habits with managing stamina and get a feel for the fall damage & hunger rate

it's never enough, you'll still make silly mistakes, take greedy jumps, but you'll have a rough idea of how to approach the game and what are the optimal things you should do to not die.

the better you are the less bonus stamina you need for stuff - i just abuse the speedrunners trick where when you have like 1/20 stamina left you let go of left mouse button, press it again, and then shift. it sends you further like a double jump but uses same stamina when you have low stamina.
