It's 2 minutes / I think hanging from a piton or a vine will make it so he can't reach you (I've tested the vine myself, works)

Will copy paste my answer from a different thread from what we think the issue is:
A lot of people have found that once theyve loaded into the island its fine. If not try vulkan (instead of dx12). - Usually because dx12 doesnt support your graphics card/some older integrated graphics

If neither of these work then make sure your device meets the minimum requirements listed on the steam page
Another thing you can try if your cpu has integrated graphics but you have a graphics card, is going into your graphic control panel (e.g. nvidea control center) and making sure peak is set to use your dedicated graphics card

it may be full lobby,
test your launch options either Vulcan or DX12 (yes this can affect it)
If you’re on Linux you might just be SOL

The game can be closed, however if you have it running, make sure it is in the main menu (and NOT the airport).
If nothing happens after that it means the lobby is full - They tend to fill up very fast!

Also, game inv links don't work on the steam deck if youre using that and you will need to do it through steam friends instead

Go to peak settings, under general, make sure LOBBY MODE is on "friends join/open to friends" & not "invite only" then go to peak lobby screen, then re-host a lobby. then go to your steam account & it should show on the right side that youre in game in peak & there should be a green join button. right click and copy link. post said link here.

Speaking of PEAK DND, It would be interesting to have a mod that lets you assign points to strength (reduces item weight), agility (speed you move and climb at), endurance (use less stamina, or take less enironmental damage), etc. Luck could increase drop rates and positive pandora box uses.

How does piton and energy drink get you height? (Just bought the game today)

A piton lets you put a 'rest stop' in the middle of climbing. You hold onto it and recover stamina. An energy drink lets you climb super fast on the same amount of stamina for about 9-ish seconds.

You can jab a piton into a wall mid climb and hang on it to restore stamina, energy drink is a speed boost
