it's the higher difficulties past normal, each ascent adds an additional constraint on top of the previous ones. iirc ascent 1 is more fall damage, then ascent 2 is more fall damage and items weigh more, etc

Inviting randoms in any game has potential for cheating, and pretty sure mods aren't able to support this issue as game guidelines imply that who you invite and how you run your games is up to your discretion and your responsibility to moderate.
