Pluto is a detective thriller about something that is killing the 7 most advanced robots in the world (takes place in the Astro Boy universe, but you do not need any Astro Boy knowledge at all). The themes are mostly about humanity and prejudice. I recommend it to anyone that likes either sci-fi or thrillers in general.

Urasawa stories all use their setting and characters (Germany, sci-fi world, detectives/doctors, etc) as a backdrop to explore the story's themes. For example, the main characters of Monster, 20th Century Boys, Pluto, and Billy Bat all find themselves in roughly the same situation, but they're a surgeon, musician, detective, and comic book artist respectively, and each of those only exist to get them into the story to begin with so we can explore nihilism, politics, humanity, and capitalism and religion respectively. So not liking hospitals or detective stories isn't actually as much of a barrier as you would think.
Urasawa is the best author if you like deeper stories that explore philosophy and the nature of humanity, but if you don't want anything that in-depth then you probably wouldn't like his stuff (despite how objectively wrong it is of course).
Try Hellsing Ultimate if you like vampires 👍
