I mean the devs have made it clear, they do not test routes for each day. They DO hand-place the structures though, like any rock formation or tree or whatever. basically they do it quickly and eyeball routes.

Today, they probably were not near as worried about the routes as they were about all the stuff in the patch, so it makes a LOT of sense that they would accidentally have a map that is insanely hard today.

Basically, they were able to get away with not testing previously, but now even the "eyeballing" they did has slipped through the cracks it seems.

Today sucks. Really frustrating; we wanted to see the new biome and could not get past shore, and we had 2 people in our group that have solo'ed ascent 7.

they randomly generate a lot of them, and then pick a small number to put into the game. so there is a finite number of seeds in the game at one time. Upon any big update they get swapped out

No, they are not. They are generated by the devs quickly going through the map and moving/placing the structures you typically see, and then they eyeball it to make sure there's no obvious long gaps between rocks. However, they do not test the seeds themselves. They've said all this clearly. Also, the seeds each day are on a cycle, it used to be 2 weeks and then they'd start repeating, but now with the new maps the cycle is longer. But it's not random per day.

Yes, there's a bug report for it in this discord, you can see others have confirmed it's broken. It's not cuz of the wall, it's because of the code not properly checking to see if it's a "frisbee" that was thrown

Basically you could get away with throwing anything for the frisbee achievement, but they patched that and broke it by accident: now you can't get it at all, even if you throw the frisbee.

this is really not that complicated.

They have a bunch of prefabricated climbing structures. Vines, rocks, bushes, trees, etc. for every different level, too.

What they do is, they copy and paste assets in, prefabs, that they already generated, and know are somewhat climbable. They literally do exactly that. They "handcraft" each map by just moving objects into the map and pasting, or moving the previous map's objects a bit.

However, they do NOT test the routes, once the maps are "generated", at all. They just eyeball them to see if the gaps are roughly small enough to climb.
