The game can be closed, however if you have it running, make sure it is in the main menu (and NOT the airport).
If nothing happens after that it means the lobby is full - They tend to fill up very fast!

if the game crash when tabing out thats bc its minimizing with is a crash issue know
and it it minimize when u tab out it mean ur not in windowed fullscreen
even if u selected the option its a bit buged out
