Me and a few friends are working on completely overhauling the Centauri Carbon Motion system and replacing it with a triple rail Gantry that will be using either 6 or 9mm belts (Undecided) We're in the initial stage of prototyping and looking into hardware
#Proof of concept (Monolith Centauri Carbon)

The idea is a proof of concept that we can get this working. Its not going to be perfect but should solve a lot of the issues with the original Gantry when it comes to ringing and VFA's
Unsure if we will ever get past a prototype or a single unit but its going to be a fun Journey
We're looking at using a Manta 5P with a CM5 but we're open to using the Centauri board if and when it becomes Reality

So many modern 3D printers exhibit vertical fine artifacts (VFAs), but do you know what causes them? In this video I dive into the technical details, explaining where they originate from and how to eliminate them.

Yes, i already had a profile i sent in Elegoo's Discord that band aided Centauri VFA's because its motion system works copy paste like the Creality K1 Max
oh god 😂
good luck
Could’ve also just said monolith gantry

why not just put a4t on it?
If you ever need someone to help let me know !
Altho i dont think the CC has the structural rigidity for monolith !
Because we're adding Carto to it and A4T doesn't support Carto
We deflection tested the frame its pretty solid
Sounds good , if you need help in testing my machine is available and i am familiar with monolith !
Thanks. we're just at the moment looking more into the mount as the screw holes for the CC don't make any sense on either side as they're not symmetrical and are just a massive middle finger
mount for ?
For the extrusions to have something to sit stable against for rigidity.. Once you add belt tension to Monolith it will want to start pulling everything towards the toolhead so if we just used the screws that do line up, you're putting all the work on 2-3 screws
does something like anthead support carto?
I'm unsure at the moment on that. We're planning on using a Modified version of Xol, the original plan was to use the stock toolhead but it doesn't make sense to go all the effort then use their stock head which i've heard has really bad input shaper
you mount the carto on the carriage?
a4t is also xol, so you could probably get away with that
A4T looks like Mini Xol but doesn't have the room for it
uap and these other toolheads look super cool, but I really haven't seen people use them often and that scares me
it's pretty fat
idk how large old xol is
It does
You could do aluminum panels but will raise the cost a lot !
it does, you can use the Xol probes
unless I'm tripping and it there's no Xol mount for it
I mean, given that it's compatible with carto cnc carriage (needs some cuttting though), it should be possible to make a probe module
