#Issue with modded server and save compatibility after update

old saves arent compatible with B42.16
Yea but the thing is that it seems like you can't revert it
try to use a backup save?
I myself accidentally launched the game without noticing the update and when I tried reverting back to .15 it doesn't let me play it
I probably don't have one
by default the game creates 5 backup saves at launch i think
check your Zomboid/backups/startup folder
Alright I'll make sure to check it
you can increase this number... i suggest doing so or occasionally create a manual backup of your save
There seems to be one from yesterday
I've got one which is still on 42.16 but it says that the save itself is on world version 244
Shouls I use the .15 one or the .16 with world version 244?
if youre playing on 42.15 use the most recent version of that build... i dont think it will revert the converted save
Alright and one more thing. Where am I supposed to put that file into?
Zomboid/Saves/yourgamemode... remove the corrupted save and replace it with the backup save. just be sure you unzip it first
Alright put the file in and unzip it got it. Thanks dude you're a lifesaver
remove the corrupted save
unzip the backup
replace the old save
i suggest keeping a copy of the backup save you know works, just in case
all good
Works well. Thanks you saved our MP playthrough!
One more thing. I kinda made an useless backup which is around 4gb and I'm wondering where I can find it so that I can delete it
when you "made" it where did you save it to?
That's the thing I don't remember😭
So it doesn't get redirected to a zomboid folder?
If so I might have some ideas where to look for it
could still be in your backup folder... it would be the only one in there that is unzipped
Couldn't find it there. Still thanks I'll look through my downloads
well, you didnt download it, you copied it right?
at least it will be one of the most recently modified folder on your pc... where ever it is lol
desktop maybe?
you could try to exttract it again and see where the default path leads...
