if anyone has some time to chat i cannot get my zomboid to function properly, im running 42.13.1 and im just runnint it solo. for a while now i get lag spike, stuttering every 5 seconds. yesterday i reinstalled the game downloaded a couple mods that ive been using forever and still getting these stutters 5 minutes into my run. yes i have tried playing without mods and its still just the same exact thing over and over again. i have not been able to play this game for months now. every time i want to get back into it, i try and fix it but no dice. if anyone is good at this kinda of problem or mods please dm me. i dont want to give up since this is one of my fav games but its getting to a point where i truly just cant play the game anymore. any help would be appreciated.

And whats "fine" and "laggy" exactly? Its reasonable to drop 20 fps or so given how cpu intensive the game can get (specially while driving)

i just made a char the other day and i did my tasks inside searched the house and then by the time i went outside i started the stuttering
every 5 seconds on command my frames go to 170ish and it just stutters hard, like a skip on a record or a song

I spent the whole day fixing my game and went from unplayable (drops to 60-80 constantly for seemingly no reason) to reasonable (120 with no spikes)
I installed 2 mods i can give you the steam page in like 5 minutes
But they are file replacements not lua like the regular ones

There do not seem to be any specific errors in the game, but I suggest you try going to the C:\Users%UserProfile%\Zomboid folder and edit the options.ini file with a text editor.
In that file, edit the fullscreen=true line to fullscreen=false
Then try launching the game again.
