so its my first time trying to mod project zomboid and i turned on some mods in the mod screen u can acces from the main menu and then pressed "accept" and it popped up a screen about reloading lua i believe and without thinking i pressed "accept" and now ive been staring at the main menu image missing all the text for a solid 20minutes while "error <higher and higher numbers>" flash in the bottom right. is this something i need to just wait out? sorry if this is a dumb question im new :3

what version are you on and what version does the mods support that sounds like the most likely cause
if you can tell me the version and then link the mod you used might narrow it down
its possible
do you know which mods you had enabled
i might sound stupid but could some be for older versions of 42 like 42.12 without specifying it
i do not
when you close the game and come back in is the screen normal again?
i know what i have subscripted to on steam but i dont know which ones specifically i had enabled
nope its still this
this means this
id just like to know how i can get back into the main menu
close it
in steam right click zomboid
click properties
click workshop
disable all the mods and try loading again
will do
also does "b42 unstable" mean i need to use the well b42 unstable for them to work?
and so then b42 unstable wont work with 42.13
42.13 is the unstable as far as i know
ah okay
also this did work! thank you so much
do i need to close this thread now? or do i just leave it here to rot
glad i could help
to find the issue mod you can try enabling 5 at a time to sus it out
not sure on that one
okayy!
Something nearly similar happened to me except the main menu's buttons were alot bigger than usual.
I found that going in users/yourname/zomboid and deleting the file options.ini gets rid of it.
You do have to have zomboid closed when you do this. I also recommend checking what version of zomboid that mod is made for. That's also a varying factor I believe.
yea it was an issue with a mod version it seems
Until they release the stable version of 42.13.1, I recommend just playing pure vanilla. Or play with mods that can be used with the unstable version.
it was just 1 mod that didnt work for some reason or it was incompatible (i cant spell that word unless i did spell ir corretly idk)
I found that for me, even just one mod causes everything to zoom in. Zooms in to the point where I can't even see the dashboard of the car I'm in.
That's how unstable 42.13.1 is
I think
