game crashing upon loading into save (b42.13.1, vanilla, linux mint) | Project Zomboid | Page 1

basically what the title says again; for some odd reason when using the native linux version of pz it will crash as soon as i click after the "click to begin" prompt appears. it also doesn't do this ONLY with the tutorial, when loading/starting saves it will crash.
i need a solution other than using proton, as for me proton was either not working or super laggy (depending on the version i used)

(the reason i'm against using the proton version is because when i played the tutorial on both, the proton version stuttered and lagged like crazy, it was actually unplayable. i'm also unsubscribed completely from all mods and it's a fresh install of zomboid and the files are all good when checking the integrity in steam)

if anyone could help that'd be very appreciated ^^

nvm it looks like it buffed itself out somehow

i tried it again for science and it seems to be working

mmb isnt zooming in or out but i'm sure its smth fixable with a restart or smth

also if i wanna use mods, am i just needing to update the case of certain file names? i know you mentioned that mods on this version on linux are broken, but i heard from another person that its mainly a case issue

if its not something with the cases then i'll just play vanilla until hopefully they fix it or smth

It is mostly a case issue as far as I am aware yes, though I havent looked into it much
