Slowerly but surly mapping out the roads to perfection, so far from West Military Tents to Cherno
everything re scaled and touched up perfectly with 1-1 road placement so far
Why did you cut the islands on the left?
How big is the vanilla map for comparison? 2500 sounds like much more lol

I cut them for these reasons,
PZ's full playable cell count is 1600 Cells, Chernuarus is about 40% larger then Kentucky

yesterday I finished 40% of the roads, will do the rest today, then work on dirt paths, and day after start placing buildings in towns
just making sure every road is exactly in the right place gives me autimsn, I wish it could be faster

It would be really cool if you released it. We could even make add-ons to expand it. Because this is just southern Zagoria, while Chernarus is much larger.
It will be a standaalone Map, as Dedicated Servers cannot handel 1600 PZ cells + 2500 extra Cells when most modded maps range in the hundreds, not thousands of cell counts. So it's Standalone so people can actualy play it, and say a random guy from 3rd world country can play it too, so people do not need NASA pc's. I will be making Liviona and Namalsk over the next 2 years though. There have been 5 Project DayZ's that have been abandoned well before even this stage. I will not allow Redistribution of my work with mofidied versions without explicit permission
However I will obviously let anyone download/ use it
due to technical limitations it will be standalone and will not be able to have more cells added, otherwise I'd of connected it to kentucky
also making 150 buildings in 4 directions, so 600 buildings, takes alot of time. I'd hate for people to be re using my assets for free
Well, it's understandable that everyone decides for themselves whether their work will be editable or not. But it's a shame it won't be able to be expanded to the required size of Chernarus.
In any case, good luck, because it would take a lot of time to make such a map on your own.
it's the exact same dimensions of the DayZ standalone map, and no it's a fast process, I am a real game developer who is doing this in my spare time, there is 300 sea cells, and about 1700 wilderness cells, and about 500 town cells
it will be out in a month

The map is Dayz South Zagoria from Arma 2, and I will introduce an expansion of it to the size of Chernarus, which voluntarily gives a larger territory
Have you tested loading something this size?
with 16GB ram and the BEST CPU our server has struggles on map generation for this size
what is the hardware you use?
as I did want to add it to kentucky, if you can figure out ways for it to run, then i'd be open to exspansions
the last thing I'll say is OG grapeseed used to blow up servers just from all the trash tiles/ decoration and that was 2 cells, so you get what I mean
if you find a way I'm all ears
We have a server with 64 gigabytes of RAM and I think the server can handle its load, another question is how the game engine will behave, although before this there was a successful but abandoned experiment with a huge map that worked quite well but had a lot of empty spaces due to its size
And we don’t have to worry about the capacity, we have a friend with a good data center that provides us with computing power.
Essentially, you need to load a card in place of the centerpiece. It's enough to specify the cell the card replaces, if my memory serves me right. I may have also heard about attaching additional cells to a separate card, but I could be mistaken about that.
This is really interesting and informal and I appreciate you taking the time to actualy write that out and explain cohesively, in that case I'd be open to allowing people to make extensions to it indeed, feel free to DM me or keep posted on the Map. I would be open to it 100% if it's playable, however I do think if we take your suggestion It'd still be standalone, so that way it has more then enough RAM for others to add their own extensions
I will be dropping a Test version on the workshop that's very bare bones on the 10th, I expect it to be finished though at the end of the month

Damn this is nice imagine if the project zomboid engine allowed for gas attacks
it does actualy, we are working on the static & dnamymic gas zone mod aswell, but it isn't priority so we are banging out map, cars, guns first + making a swimming mechanic
we're using a customized fog zone in a circle that we can change the color of + change it affecting health values for it
starting work on Kamenka Town
will remove river, was mistake, and tidy up roads then do houses and docks

Thank you much appreciated homie, Yeah we do have a rough timeframe it just isn't 100%. The Map's Artist & Nature Designer/Co Mapper is currently in the process of updating their personal custom Tile pack to B42, it contains 1000+ Tiles and they need to update all of them even the ones we won't use to port it over
Now the map would have been done at the end of this Month- However due to needing to update the tile's I'd say near the End of February.
The Reason we NEED the tiles, is they make CURVED roads, they also have made all the Tree's & other nature assets from DayZ, aswell as that they have special Blends & Rules that make the Grass actualy look decent and real.
Here is the Tree's for a example, compare that to normal PZ tree's
the majority of the work will be spent in zoning for 2-3 weeks, setting up the zones, loot spawns, forgaging zones, animal spawns & the DayZ respawning system
we have made the majority of the buildings already and the whole map is shaped out already
I myself want to playthis too, so I will work harder to bring it faster, however we need to be patient for our Co mappers Tile Pack💪

You must have the Admin mode & Item List Viewer to spawn in the Items currently
Currently it is undergoing debugging & the last round of additions & Bug Fix's, however it's to a point we feel happy Publicly releasing it for testing.
Due to ongoing Active Development it is not suggested to add it to LONG TERM playthroughs and we suggest short term gameplay to avoid any Save Issues

🍻 I hope you enjoy, hopefully by tomorrow we have the last of the Bugs ironed out + the items spawning naturally so admin menu isn't needed. Everything else works if you want to kill some z's with the DayZ weapons, the GUI for the guns is done by pressing (T)

yess I do, sorry I have been really Ill IRL so I have taken a break for a few weeks to recover for health issues.
I can say safely that it will be finished by May, currently the Veg + the Main map PNG's are finished.
We have 80/140 Buildings made, each in all 4 directions, so 80x4.
Also we have a Gun mod that's in revamp as dayz devs DMCA'd our gun mod.
I apologize about the wait, each of the buildings take about 8-10 hours per so a whole work day per building, sometimes if I'm really speedy I can get 2-3 buildings done a day at most, I am on break for the next 2 weeks so I would say Late May it will be out
