so 'unstable' seems to have gotten an update
and is incompatable with servers that haven't updated
BUT
there's a new beta to opt-into which is just 42.13.1

tried everithing, reinstalling game and steam, deleting files from filesystem....

And why don't they restart the server? The error message I get says the file isn't the same as the server's.
