I hope they launch another patch with more fixes 🙁

May be an hot take, but I don't get people that don't play because of a few bugs. If you wanna play now, this is the best version of the game currently available, and it is still very playable.
You don't have control on when the next patch will be, nor if it is going to address your "favourite" bug. But you do have control of hitting play and have fun on a game you want to play... just my 2-cents
i dont have a problem with the current bugs on mp except for one bug that makes the game unplayable
and its the zombie migration bug that happens in every session

yes it wont fill up with water so long as there is food inside it, the rain will ignore it
i just use grass from right clicking on the ground or those animal feed bags(i steal them from other troughs in farms lol)

My prediction in Build 43 is we are going to see some more renewable food resources.
Something like renewable hot pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, cucumbers and pickles, vinegar and yeast.
These food resources are completely unrenewable right now, which locks away most of the advance food recipes in the game.

i really wished 43 or earlier involved overhaul of Medical skills because unfortunately it now does nothing and doctor/nurse class (Which would be extremely important in apocalypse) are useless altogether

each update has the potential to invalidate and make your saves defunct, its part of the unstable build
This is first save which didnt survive big update, but i wonder how some ppl’s saves are still ok
ultimately, help for saves from older unstable builds is not likely something you'll get, even if they do transfer over, unpredictable buggy behavior can occur

Anyone getting memory leak? Our server been running since the hotfix, from RAM usage of only 1gb (yes, with 10+ players) to now a whooping 20gb so suddenly, no mods and max 20 players as recommended.
Some buildings refused to load for admin and players, idk if it's the memory issue or something else, surely not internet because no rubberbanding. If I want to make a report, what actually important to provide for this issue?
I started a wilderness run on a mod map, been like well over half a year since I last played...Lack of nails and spawning on a separate smaller island and being trapped there sure is funny

B42 is simply far more demanding on the server to account for memory and processing than B41 ever was
How much RAM does your server have
Our hardware has 64gb. We capped the RAM to 16gb previously, now to 20gb assuming it's 1gb per 1 player.
We just restarted the server just now due to the buildings not loading (screenshot), and at RAM usage of 10gb with 12-13 players already in.
I guess we will see how it goes.
In my testing on vanilla 42.13.1 with players on my server, 1gb per connected player seems close to accurate

Haha yesss in 42.12 I started x16 runs again and I ended up getting my foraging up to 5 in the first few days, no books was pretty wild - was basically a wilderness run because you can't really get into many buildings

yes but yet again if I have a gun and I wanna shoot it (like a player), will game know I'm not aiming at the bus and not the player and wise versa? - I think eventually the game should (if possible) allow camera angles move at least by 45° because I'm absolutely sure there is some sweaty PVP player knowing all limitations of the game

I got some level 2 maintenance breaking wooden spears on zombies. I don't know beyond that.
I believe maintenance xp is now tied to the average durability of a weapon, meaning that high durability weapons don't give a lot of maintenance xp. I don't know exactly how it's calculated. Also a number of weapons don't give any xp at all.

can get really far survival wise, but no preservation means you procure food every few days, and no problems keeping weight...but don't know how this'd work if I had to worry about fighting zombies every day

That is why the devs don't want XP gains exclusive for dismantling things. It punishes those who wanted to do wilderness runs. Gaining XPs from building/crafting becomes sensible after the changes.

Also due a funny mod map spawn on a smaller island aside the main one, I only had 33 zeds to kill and will never fight another one unless I get nails to a build a bridge. Nails are needed for so many primitive crafting stations. Need nails, to be able to produce any clothing, more nails, even for a bowl to make meals. All zed clothing is at minimum condition riddled with holes via mod. Naked and afraid.
Hunger will not kill me, zeds will not kill me. Winter cold will, but a ruined shack I found seems to have some sort of heating inside, for now...
Oh ya, no saws apart from flint one, so even if I had anything to dismantle, I do not have a metallic saw to do so. Foraging is my only hope

every build breaks saves in unstable, other games are not perfectly safe either. It's about the mod creators NOT updating their mods for new patches.

Please tell me what's going on with the day length settings in the game...Only in English does 1.30 appear and in my language (Ukrainian) there is only 1 hour or 2 hours... 1 hour is too short 2 hours is too long when trying to turn on English and set 1.30 feels like it's still on for 2 hours. How does this work?
I'm also using Ukrainian and saw that. Problem is that 1.5h option isn't translated correctly and instead there's "1 година" option twice
I use the time setting twice (real time)
Just select second "1 година" and you'll get 1 and a half hour day

Well, I don't have two "1 hour" settings, but I do have two "real time" settings.
This is strange but... If you remove the game translation mod, 1.30 appears and the duplicate "real time" also disappears.
Well I don't really remember how "1.5 hour" is named specifically, just that it doubles one of the other options name
It just seems to me lately that there is no difference between 1.30 and 2 hours of game time, instead 1 hour feels too fast. I don't know how I played before this innovation... Now I'm just plain I don't have time to do anything in the game😅 but on the other hand, living a year in the game now takes a lot of time in real life My maximum per day was 15 gaming days, which seems very little considering that you have to sit at the computer for 8 to 12 hours (which I did yesterday).
I'm not really engaging with unstable builds that much. I do play for a few hours each time there's something major is added. I tried new time and found it much more comfortable to play with but I just tested it without trying to make a long lasting save
But it's just that I'm such a fan of the game that I can't quit it😅I've been playing Zomboid since 2014 and have already played 2000 hours on Steam alone and the same amount on the pirated version, if not more (developers, sorry for that)
What I'm really interested right now is crafting/building fix so it's possible to progress in complete wilderness. Also bows so that hunting is possible without firearms
In my opinion, it should be in the game, but as for bows, I'm not sure that they can be implemented properly. Well, personally, I can't imagine such a thing as NPCs. I once tried mods with the addition of NPCs and I hope they won't be as bad as in the mods.
It's fine, I also pirated a lot of games as a kid because I had no allowance to purchase them. Then bought some of them out of nostalgia

Devs actually worked on bows and crossbows and even posted how they planned it to be crafted. But then they run into troubles implementing it and it's state isn't clear rn. Maybe they work on it, maybe postponed it or discarded the idea - no one knows
That's why I'm telling you. It's hard for me to imagine how they would look in the game and how to implement them. BUT once everyone thought the same about cars (when they weren't in the game yet) and about basements and animals, but here we are.we can see them in the game. I think they will make bows and many other things, it's just a matter of time, it could take a couple of months or a whole year So we wait and hope for the best.

Turns out nails are not the failure condition here, it's SAND. Not a single tile of sand on this island. Cannot make a sand sack, which means I cannot make a clay crucible. Which means I cannot fire it, use it for basic blacksmithing, to make nails to get this really going.
Oh, and a modern lighter to light up a kiln

You need carpentry 3 to make a loom, without nails. Loom can process hemp dogbane into burlap.

Simple solution would be to give us the ability to craft a torch that we could then light things, and also use as a light source which would useful

we never change the vanilla setting for zombie and loot spawning, because usually this kind of problem never happen before
I wish we could release fish back into the water so I can catch and release anything too small to be worth eating
you can use whole chonky full meat of an animal as a bait, why not whole fishies too...but filleting them at least works

I tried every single possible command line, including set myself as an admin but it just says that I am no longer in god mode, even tho I never was to begin with

Are you just looking to pass time? You can use the dedicated software to host it and in the settings file there is a pause if no players on is set to false time will progress at a normal rate

If by “coop” you mean running it with “host” then (if I remember correctly) host vs. dedicated is basically a distinction without a difference
That is, to my knowledge, “host” just runs the server on the coop host's machine, nearly the same way dedicated does. There's some specific code for it but both of them should be unstable in similar ways (again, repeating that this is to my knowledge and may not be entirely accurate)

Are you near a massive pack of zombies? That happens super quick on higher pops, on x16 if you are near a horde you can basically get the first two levels near instantly. It was the same in B41 on high pop runs

yeah, we have been looking into that, I think there were actually multiple different causes behind it and some have been fixed but some haven't. I will try to find the current status of things and see if we still need more info or what's going on with it though.

me doing a B42 wilderness only run but by coincidence trapped on a smaller island with not enough resources to make the experience even worse
need some wooden dowels or "nails" and ways to make nails without requiring nails, and certain pottery molds have no use atm (or are not used to make the thing it greatly implies it makes)
also not being able to craft any meaningful clothing without metal scissors...that do not exist in a wilderness run even after 40+ days of foraging lol

I have an issue with crafting menu. It opened so wide that craft button along with everything in the bottom of the menu cant be reached. I cant move the menu upwards or make it smaller. And it didn't reset after I restarted the game

The standard animals are as we all know reinforced with titanium but the new ones have a tungsten core to wreck your car even more

Not intended as a long-term fix, but you can reset the crafting menu size by deleting User/Zomboid/Lua/entityLayout.ini before launching the game.
I scrolled through forum page and people there describe it similarly to my experience, I have nothing meaningful to add. It's just wild that this particular bug been around for a whole year and still there's no good solution to it

What odd is that a few doors will work with the bunker key
But i still had to break like 4 of them and I didn't even bother going to the lab side

Any discussion about "respawning cars"? Kindda hope there's setting to respawn cars randomly with hordes.
Because if you have a server with players that come and go weld any cars for the XP, leave the drops/despawn, then finish whatever they want to do and left the server.... is kindda an issue for the other slower pace players.

The most annoying bugs i still have are the weight change arrows not showing up / many synchronization issues like any action from another inventory only move it in your inventory and don't do the action if not going through the craft menu / food in your inv show decay faster than it should (drop it on ground it's back to fresh) / auto drink stop working at some point

The encouraging thing is that despite the current bugs, It it fairly playable. The main issues that needs to be fixed are the dsync issue causing item duplications, missing muscle strain in combat, odors moodle and weird zombie migration. Then we'll be in a good state
Also the audio that needs to be tweaked a bit. That would be solid
after that, they'll be able to work on animals and other things, but the founding blocks will be there

Also bumping up the minor (subversion) can happen even if they don't release new features in it, depends on how many fixes are in the pipeline at that current time that they decide to release something.

In MP, I built a garage with carpentry then I did a second floor on top. When there's a car in the garage and I go to the second floor, when I stop moving and I am ''on top'' of the car, my character goes into pathfinding mode while standing still

i'm over 3 months in to CDDA, i've overcome zero strength, zero fitness, i can slowly but effectively traverse through muldraugh, but the 1 thing i just can't do is find chickens
have you checked outside of muldraugh? like the chicken farm in echo creek
Look at the gated community, there's a house with some chicken, Another place to look for is north of the highway in mauldraugh (Carpenter street I think), there's a farm there
next to rusty rifle as well has a house with a chicken coop
you could say i've checked a few places....
pretty much all static farm animal spawns are dead in CDDA
only ones i've found alive are those outside of pen
i found a group of sheep just roaming around to make butter with, 1 single bull in a trailer
but it's been bad luck otherwise

it also seems like when you select a focus, all it seems to do is have a chane to replace what you would have found with something in a different category. this might be wrong, as it could very well also increase the spawn rates when new stuff spawns in. it seems like the best way to forage is going into unloaded chunks

animals have a few different ways they can soldier on, namely the car crash sites with animal trailers or the spawn event that eludes to the fact that they're a pack that escaped their pens

In previous versions, items placed on a crafting table weren't collected when crafting. (This allowed you to decorate tables with tools and items.)
Now, when I craft, the character grabs the items and tools, and messes everything up. Is this how it will be from now on?
Because I honestly liked that it didn't grabs the items, so as not to mess up the decorations, especially with the (EXTENDED 3D)
Dead animals are sometimes not displayed, so the trailer appears "empty."
If I then add an animal, it becomes overcrowded an the server crash

if you are using mods they will likely cause bugs. @hard wedge ^
not using mods and there are some obvious bugs, like can't removed plowed land, can't return VHS from inventory, crates from bottom floor visible on second floor etc., like really a lot of them
the bug reporting forum is eliminate any irrelevant bug reporting that doesn't meet the relevant criteria i.e. saves converted from older versions would probably get reported constantly on discord, so the forum keeps it neat and tidy so that TIS can just work through them, also archives it so that it doesn't get lost in the discord

i play with someone out of the far east asia region, with the server location in Finland, from what we see so far its night and day
the occaisonal hit to the back of the head still happens with fighting desync but it isnt nearly as bad as it used to be
