i've encountered this issue with the muzzle flash lighting, where when the flash happens, the light stays for a few seconds before dissappearing. normally it would just flash really quick like a normal muzzle flash in real life would, but mine is not the case here

#

i'm guessing this is maybe like a bug if you play on lower FPS?

What FPS are you playing on? Do you use any mods?

this test was with just 3 mods

#

and this was on 60 FPS although in lower FPS the issue still occur

Can you reproduce it without mods on a new save?

#

sure, wait

#

apologise for the wait

#

tested with default lighting updates setting (15)

Are you sure you have 60 FPS? Can you enable the FPS monitor by pressing K?

if i record it'll drop the fps down so I took a screenshot instead

#

increasing the lighting updates to 60 seems to make it last just a bit shorter

Something seems wrong with your memory, did you perhaps do any modifications to the game?

verified file integrity, the muzzle flash issue still happens

You will need to do a clean reinstall, integrity verification does not catch all modifications

#

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps, test it on a new save

clean reinstall

#

so it depends on FPS, the higher fps the quicker it flashes

#

wait

#

I found out the issue

#

I set the "lock framerate" to 60 on the settings and it flashes quicker

#

when I have it at 244 the problem occurs
