I've been trying to host an MP server for me and my friends and i'm just constantly stuck on the initializing screen for hours at a time, is there any way to fix this?

Abort the initialization, then start the server again and wait at least 5-10 minutes.
If the server still does not start after waiting, cancel it again and repeat these steps until it does.
