#Steam authorization screen

Yesterday, I was able to host a server with some of my friends. Today at 4:00 PM, we tried again, and all my friends got stuck on the Steam authorization screen. We thought it was a Steam issue, but when they hosted their own server, we discovered that the problem was on my end. They can join anyone else's server, but I get stuck on the Steam authorization screen. I haven’t changed anything from yesterday to today, didn’t modify anything. I’ve tried everything, but it’s not working; I’m still stuck there.

Do you perhaps live in a different country than the other friends? To see if Steam authorization is having issues in specific areas.

I confirm that we all come from the same country, and the problem is actually with me. Out of the 5 friends we are, none of the 4 can join my session, but if each of them hosts a session, everyone can access it except for me. I repeat, this happened overnight; I haven’t changed any settings

There have been other similar reports of issues, Steam had some issues yesterday as far as I am aware and that seems to be the main cause as far as I can tell

#

Do you live in the same area as well?

#

Since you could be using a different Steam server if not

Yes, I confirm that we are all from the same country. To be precise, among these 4 friends, one lives in the same city and can access the servers of the others but not mine. And if I host it, none of the 4 can access.

Just to check for any sort of gamer issues, can you share your logs.zip file found in C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Zomboid?

#

And can you specify if you two use the same internet provider?

#

To see if they might have any issues

I can confirm that 3 out of 5 people in our group have the same internet provider as me, so I don't think the problem is with the internet.

#

I just tested it with a friend, and it still gets stuck on 'Steam authorization'.

#

If it helps, yesterday I was reading on Reddit (where some people have mentioned this issue over the years, though without any solution) that someone suggested trying to access another Steam game to see if it made a difference. I launched BattleBit Remastered and it works. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, disabled debug mode thinking it might have some effect, restarted my modem and computer several times, but nothing has worked.

Try changing the Download region in Steam

#

In your Steam Settings > Downloads

i m trying

#

I tried in two other regions different from mine, but I can confirm that nothing changed.

Hm, reading further, I am not sure I could help much, since it may be possible the authorization servers could be having issues

#

Would have to wait for Steam to fix it

Yes, to be honest, I also think it’s a Steam-related issue. Unfortunately, when it comes to Project Zomboid, you can’t contact Steam support about it. Maybe someone like you who can reach out could bring it to their attention so it can be resolved as soon as possible. I got 4 friends to buy the game in one evening, and now they’re all playing together while I can’t. It’s unbelievable.

@dry solstice Bro, it finally works! I tested it an hour ago and, without having changed anything at all, it started working again. Thanks a lot for your availability. From the beginning, I said it was definitely the platform's fault and not yours. Despite everything, you were helpful, and I really appreciate it. I wish you a great day and thanks again!
