Custom thematic candles to light up your path in the apocalypse, will require matches/lighter to use these and drain them accordingly.
Hooked up to timed actions now, players are forced to walk to the square to light up these custom lights, has custom sounds depending on what item was used to light up the candles.
We might have some custom animations at some point in the future for them.
They might be considered "OP" as they will obviously work without power on and will emit light indefinitely until snuffed off. Only requirement is to find these on the map and have either lighter or matches to light em up. The radius on these badboys is forced to 3 max around the tile.
Won't be posting more of these due to spoilers. The diary will consist of 15 pages give or take. Players will be able to find her diary at undisclosed location.
It's a little bit of Victorian era and medieval. Essentially a haunted manor, with story to explore and loads of custom clothing with powerful cursed items. There's also a dungeon system that comes later after I finish the story.

Okay, have been working on my dialogue framework for the map mod and I'm somewhat happy with where it is now. Might release this as it's own thing for other people to use - after I finish the map.

It will be next to Riverside on the vanilla map, it's expansion of already existing map, but it will have it's dedicated area so it doesn't seem like part of vanilla for blending purposes.

The most south cells are not properly blended so far, however that will likely be the next thing in the pipeline (I reused cells from my other project)
It doesn't show buildings, but I already have that area populated as well, just needs some more work.

Whats cedar hill about? Is it like silent hill?
It's not like Silent Hill, it shares the moody, psychological vibe...uneasy quiet, environmental storytelling, but it’s its own thing.
Victorian-Gothic mystery set around a haunted manor, exploration, atmosphere, NPCs, quests and of course some lore that will be told through those NPCs and for example diary pages.
Rest of the map as you can see is modern, that's why the Manor is isolated from everything else.

Map is mostly done, I just need to code the quests and introduce more NPCs
In the manor area, I need to add servant's quarters and polish existing things, but I'd say overall it's halfway there. Map will take the least amount of time of the things that still need to be done 😄

When we get the b42 tools release I'll switch over, currently I'm aiming for 41 release until that happens
There are unofficial tools out there, but that would just add a lot of extra work I'd have to do when the official is released

Non of the quests are out there yet. It's being worked on right now. None of the victorian stuff either, that's the point of this channel. Work in progress pictures, videos all the good stuff before an actual release.

Yes, that's the idea.
Also there are no jumpscares and none of the cliche stuff. The true horror of Cedar Hill is buried in item descriptions, NPC dialogue, and lore books. Some of the most unsettling moments come from things that are almost familiar, but deeply wrong.

I think I have already showcased some of the quests in here, yes quest system is already done
You go to NPCs and accept quests, they'll send you to do some task and you'll come back and get rewards like my special currency or items

You might get sent out into Kentucky by the npcs to collect some of the items and fetch them back, but that's as far as Kentucky goes

I don't really have interest into making vanilla map enhancements, everything in my map is very streamlined and spending time in it rewards players immensely with powerful items and they get to experience the story
Do zombies still spawn on your map while you look for clues?
I'm also thinking about daily quests, just like the deal fountain I have, you can only do it every 3 days, so once your deal expires - you can take another deal

That's sandbox setting, the zombie respawn, I don't control that by any means, I do however spawn zombies in certain locations like the arena and for some quests, so any player can complete the quest

Its original function is npc sells and buys drugs from u
I edited it to be compatible with brita wepon and gunfihter arsenal 2.0
Now it can sell wepon.ammo and supplies like water food

I dig the idea of just having a Cedar Hill and related content run once it's on a good state
It's currently part of the vanilla map. I just feel like the size currently doesn't warrant a standalone, you'd run out of things to explore and limit yourself to Cedar Hill only. Me and @cyan rampart have thought about toying with the idea of having a ferryman that would take you to different islands (for a price), which would allow for expeditions and sort of like a dlc that would feed back into what's currently there. But that would come very later in development.
The original area is also going through some redesign
And I'll likely get rid of that one house that sticks out the most, since people are fighting for it on multiplayer servers, which is kind of silly. No more "whoever gets there first will claim the house and have the best base".
Isn't that a nice part of the multiplayer experience?

It's unfair towards other players. The latecomers would have to settle for a smaller house that's close by and just watch the guy who claimed it have a time of his life living. Not to mention that it's really safe to live there.
