zomboid not opening when i click start

i have had project zomboid for 3 years and has never had any problems, but recently when i click start is says the game is opening then it just quits, ive verified game files, redownloaded and all that but it still won't work 😦 i really wanna play and i dont know what to do

Yo! Can you post a copy of your logs.zip file? It can be found in your C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Zomboid folder.

I am also having this same issue after only 10 hours ingame.

I am having issues trying to start the game, ive done all the things that it says to do to fix the problem but nothing has worked,can you help me?

Woah! Uhh looks like your client is having trouble finding the right folder to load stuff up? I see your steam folder in your Desktop for some reason?

Try reinstalling using a standard install directory?

Reinstall the game using Steam's reinstall feature I have no idea what that is lol

i tried reinstalling it before but it like did the same thing, is there a certain way i need to do it?

Typically when you install games through Steam they end up in steamapps/common/??

If I were to guess it's that exclamation mark in the folder name that might be causing issues?

Sometimes non-standard characters can throw a wrench into the thing parsing the filepath

ok that bit is handled, ill try zomboid now

now instead of zomboing instantly quitting, it says validating, goes to one percent, then quits again. should i update my drivers or do u have somethingelse in mind?

also when i do alternate launch it says a bunch of things in the console, should i sned that?
