If I switch from b41 to b42, will all of my mods and saves for b41 be safe, stay, and not corrupt, and i can switch back to b41 at any time and it will be just as how like I left it, and vice versa for b42
Will the mods I’ve downloaded for b41 clutter my mods list in b42 and the mods I download for b42 apppear in my b41 mods list, or will mods downloaded for the respective versions only appear in the mods on their version

just keep a backup to be sure
also a bunch of mods havent been ported to b42 yet
or have had a new version made specifically for b42

i would back up, but it's been safe for me so far..
as for mods... it can be a bit annoying if some are toggled both 41 and 42 but otherwise it isnt bad, id make collections for each update tho
if the mod isnt toggled for an update it wont appear

yes, but most will either be backwards compatible... or u not... and the 42 patch will probably be in a separate mod

i thought theyd be in the AppData folder under saves or somethin... but i just checked mine for Zomboid and it was empty lol...

it saves automatically... making a backup is just creating a copy of that automatic save somewhere else in case the games files get corrupted or lost
so like... idk on ur desktop or somewhere u could just make a folder labeled Zomboid Backups, and have a backup for both 41 and 42 in there

After all my best save is only 1.5 months and even then I had to make a second charecter because 21 days in I died because of a microwave fire 🤷🏻♂️

its only annoying if say for example...
in b42... i use M13 Bo Staffs, it also works in b41
however in b41 i use Morgan Jones Bo Staff, because it is a prerequisite for Glaives...

but in b41 M13 Bo Staff will still show up... i just have to make sure not to enable it because it conflicts
for some mods yes...
like i think the Lawnmower trailers mod got update for 42... but Lawnmowers did not...
so... u cant really use either cuz u still need the lawnmowers update

but i think it took alot of coding to update some of the cooler vehicle mods...
i know the Refrigerated Truck got updated... as well as a few of k15 vehicles... and some autotsar stuff
and the bulldozer... lol
