You can generally see your Icon Tray on your Taskbar, on the right side

That is where the apps that are running are shown

You can then check if one or multiple of them are antiviruses

read it. I saw your post. You need to follow what I am instructing you to do.

Don’t get frustrated. Your D drive contains corrupt files.

So:

delete PZ from steam. Then MANUALLY delete all zomboid folders from the D drive AND your profiles folder on the C drive.

The profiles folder is where save game data and game settings data is stored. That has to be deleted manually. Steam will not delete it for you.

Then run disk cleanup.

Then reinstall zomboid without any mods and run it

They are saying after you delete project zomboid from your library to go into the directory (where the files were stored, so make a note of where that originally was before deleting the game) go there and delete everything. Then go to your windows search and type disk cleanup run that and AFTER it is done then reinstall zomboid. If you have already done this youre going to have to do it again computers are finniciky and sometimes certain steps need to be done in order for things to work, its annoying but welcome to computers.

I am not sure exactly what went on here, but generally the issue can have multiple reasons, such as an antivirus blocking the file from downloading, or other disk issues such as the disk itself being full or the C disk being full. Lastly, even actual disk issues can cause problems, but those are rare

If your PC outright stopped starting, that would imply a hardware issue, you might want to check your hardware or give it to a professional for examination

That error code is always due to corrupt files on a drive and/or viruses or malware.

This user needs to run a full scndsk command and virus scan

#

Scndsk command fixes 90% of these issues if it’s not malware.

Maybe a bad disk sector or other corrupt data that just needs to be repaired

There’s a process for all this stuff, so you just do one step at a time and things get fixed.

Something on the drive was corrupted and reinstalling windows and all that repairs it, so you’ll be fine
