I hosted a server to let my friend join. My friend told me that my server is getting harder and harder to load, specially when loading the map chunks. He said when my server first starts, it took him only 1 minute to join server. After a few days of playing, the loading time increased to 3 minutes and 5 minutes and eventually, after a week of playing, he couldn’t join my server normally. It took him 10 minutes to join my server and when he joins, the map looks like the image below. I suspect my server has some sort of increasing cache that’s too much for other players to load. Me, however, is not affected by this cache. I’m able to re-host my server as fast as the first day. How do I clean and maintain my server?
#[B41] Other Players Getting Harder To Join My Server Cuz Map Getting Bigger And Harder To Load

When a player joins, they only load and download the area surrounding the character
Meaning the map size does not matter, but the amount of items and constructions in the area where you log out does
Is your friend perhaps always logging out in an area where there are a lot of dropped items?
Yes he is. What’s the safe distance for him to logout and login each time? Like, 50 tiles from the house we live? @noble oracle thank you for replying btw
The game loads the tiles based on the resolution, meaning if he has a high resolution it may be necessary to go further than 50 tiles.
You can basically try looking into the distance by aiming with you character and that is roughly how many tiles are loaded at login
