#B42 Black Screen

I have the same problem, the game starts and runs because you can hear the sound effects and hear that it is running, but it is only the image. I'm wondering if it can't be the new lighting that my pc can't support, since it's older
First try going to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder and then use Alternative Launch
Same thing happens
bro i was in the middle of deleting it too
After wiping your folder?
Try it anyways might work
Yeah I deleted everything except saves and did alternate launch
It wasn't here either
how can fix it
@iron yew Have you completely removed and tried to install B42 directly?
Tried re-installing think this might have something to do with it
I've seen other posts from people reporting it to be a problem related to compatibility with AMD cards
understandable
This is already an answer to an unanswered question
It's probably expecting an update that's compatible with older models or AMD systems that are conflicting
unfortunately I'm just waiting
Hopefully till then I can always just play B41
In some tests my B41 still works, so the option that remains is a problem in the game itself
Yeah I've never had any issues with B41
I'm not a game programmer, but in my systems something similar ends up happening in updates for some other machines, usually you need to work on the codes to check for conflicts or lack of resources for them to run
I saw a reddit user say they left it running for about 5-10 min and it started working
obviously not ideal but worth a try for the sake of troubleshooting?

Yea a dev responded to that first one and hopefully they're looking into it
there is a hacky workaround detailed there if people are desperate to play but I'd probably wait until they patch it considering the amount of people that have reported this
Yeah I'm gonna wait on it
This is a known problem at the moment with some older AMD cards, we are looking into it.
Mine is an RX 6600 and has the same problem, so it's not just on an old video card
That means your issue is with your drivers being outdated
I suggest updating them
Can you share your logs.zip file found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid?
I have the same problems
I got a Ryzen 5 5600G with lots of VRAM
Black screen and i can click on thing, listen the background music, but can't see
Exactly that
There are a lot of texture errors here that seem unrelated to the issue other people have
Therefore I suggest making a new thread
Beard could you help me too?
Would if I could, but that graphics card is an integrated one, so there is no fix for that one at the moment
i apreciated your help bro, i'll wait for a patch to fix it
I was able to solve all my problems by deleting all the game files manually and downloading them again
including this folder C:UsersYourUserNameZomboid
here did u get the files to redownload
reinstalling on steam, after that my game worked normally
