#Build 41 mp unplayable after b42 update

I'm hosting for a friends, when I got on to start the game as normal today I found out b42 came out but it's on a separate branch so I'm electing to stick to b41 until b42 becoms the new stable, but when I try to load up the server it takes me to the mod download screen to download mods I already have installed, but it tries anyway and steam just shows rapid fire downloads of nothing and this just keeps going until I completely exit the game. just to reiterate I am still on build 41, the server is still on build 41, I have changed 0 settings or mods between yesterday's session and today, the only difference is that 2 mods updated (they still support b41)

Hi, I am encoutering the same problem, might be because of some mods being updated to b42
Are you using moodle framework or Equipment UI - Paper Doll Equipment Interface ?

I'm using both

those are the only 2 mods that have updated, issue is either them or somehow the b42 update leaked into b41 and bricked something

Wonder how this works (message from ui equipement creator)
"Notloc  [créateur] Il y a 1 heure 
A b42 version will be available shortly.
The b41 version will remain as well thanks to the new version of Zomboid supporting mod versioning."

My understanding of this is that b42 handles multiples mods version, but that does not make any sense because we are still using b41

I mean they just kinda auto updated, I can't revert them either to try and figure out which one is the issue

I've been using mp to play sp since sp runs like ass comparatively so this is literally just entirely shutting me out of playing the game rn

Have you tried a server restart in order to refresh workshop items?

I've tried hosting it twice (not dedicated server)

Looks like it's this one yes, my game is only showing error with the ui mod workshop id

I am not aware of any "mod versioning" but I might be wrong about that and am looking into it

Mod authors should generally upload a separate B42 version while keeping the original B41 up as a best practice

looking into it, seems like the mod updated 3 times in the span of like 2 minutes so maybe it downloaded one version, then the next few didn't download so the server thinks the mod is out of date?

steam had the ideal timing to do the tuesday maintenance right as I was trying this

It looks like there is versioning as the author said, though it requires a specific folder path, so you might want to wait for the author to double check that everything works if they are still pushing updates

@pliant martenmake sure your steam has downloaded the other updates to equipment ui, restarting steam and waiting a few minutes should do it
