#B42; crashing upon spawning into the world
76 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I have the same issue,
right after the "This is how you died screen" the game eventually freezes and anytime I try to ALT TAB or click it just crashes/does the "This program is not responding" and that whole spiel
I'll get my debug.log in abit
"ERROR: Mannequin zone missing properties in media/maps/Muldraugh, KY/objects.lua at 13583,1299,0."
This is what is present in each of the logs, this exact error lol... Manequin... 💀
I have also verified game files once already so I doubt that'll be a perfect fix if anyone is thinking of that already
Verify integrity of game files in steam, make sure your drivers are up to date, then start the game again
no longer getting frozen, just closes the game by itself without warning - weird
@here I'll try an "alternate launch" option rn and tell u all if it'd work there then
Verified my game's files as well
awesome
thanks tons
Crashed again. Nevermind.
This time I was "out of memory" error, never had this issue on B41 to eb honest both no vanilla dn heavily-modded game
and earlier, there was another error related to some manequin in Muldraugh, KY...
ive never had an issue with zomboid in general that i can think of
except for maybe the unstable branch for b41 but thats about it
As a first step, I suggest you go to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
What's next then?
Just launch the game or?
Just did this, tutorial seems to work (just decided to try it out for shits and giggles)
Can you share the latest “hs_err_pid” file found in your main game folder “Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid”?
Tutorials seem to work but no luck with the 'main gamemode' (i guess you'd say)
This is the one when I tried to join an "apocalypse" preset world and crashed upon spawning, as I understand
Oh it says "out of memory", though I never even had memory issues with B41 at all
Then is there any way to increase the amount of memory the game may use, in some game's file????
It should really not run out of memory, you have enough on your system
Could you confirm that you have Texture Compression enabled in the game options?
A second, I'll check
Yep, it seems to be enabled there
I also turned off "high-resolution items", lowered water quality and some other options and it still crashed (tried on tutorial world)
Hm, I do not have a leat at the moment, could you try restoring your Intel settings to defaults? Just to check if something is forcing any settings there:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057513/graphics.html#:~:text=Adjusting settings in Intel®,revert after a few minutes.
They're on defaults, though, still the same issue's present
Could you try restarting the PC and then try replicating the issue again and double checking the err pid files?
Since one shows a lightning error and one shows the out of memory issue
I want to see if one of them was a fluke to check for the main issue
Ok then, I'll do so rn and see what happens
Now something begins to download now, but it's stuck on 0%
(wonder if those are some bug fixes, or just mods, as if those are updated mods, it's fine to stop the download then)
You can generally hover over the " I " letter in the circle that will tell you
Oh ye, thanks, those were mods. I'll try running the game now then without this download
This is the newest error file I guess
Oh nevermind
a second
This is the latest error file, here
Hm, could you try using the "Alternate Launch" option when you launch the game through Steam?
You can see it when you click Play
I'll try it now, ok
Now it first crashes, as it seems. I created my character, waited while everything'd load, and clicked on "start" in the bottom side of the screen. Everything turned black just then, the game seemingly crashed for some reason, and a minute later, it simply restarts itself somehow
Hm, just to check something can you confirm that you have the pagefile enabled?
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/how-to-manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows-10,36929.html
It should be preferably set to "automatic" or "system managed"
OMG I ENABLED VSYNC AND IT SOMEHOW WORKED
Then, I loaded into the save that crashed for me previously, and everyhting seems to work just OK right now
I set my max FPS to 60 and enabled vsync option
Hmm, keep me up to date to see if it stays like that
Ok then, thanks for helping
@amber talon also try that too
I crashed again. It happened after opening the in-game map, and then ressing ESC button. I clicked on controls panel there to change the key button to stop time but the game suddenly crashed
Before it happened, everything was running smoothly
Could you try capping the framerate lower?
I'll try now then
Also, just tried to open map again after loading into the save save, and nothing crashed this time, strange
It crashed recently when I tried to look around, as there were like 80 zombies walking behind me
And when they were about to render, the game somehow crashed. Even though this horde did render a minute earleir without causing any crash
At this point, I would suggest making a bug report with the console + err pid:

Since it looks like older graphics cards might be hit hard with some of the optimizations
