I forgot I have a homebrew mod that allows me to carve long sticks. For vanilla, raiding janitor's closets for brooms seems to be the most successful for me
Supposedly you also get saplings if you cut down young trees but I havent tested that yet
sorry to respond to this so late but I would not recommend this at all, I tried it in a run thinking it would balance out and it did not at all lol

so you have to play thieve sim in zomboid to steal items out of houses
or come with a weapon and kill the house owner
Definitely sounds like an step up from when I tried a npc mod for the first time I forgot what it was called but there was a mod which I played with npcs and they were pretty jank

its the second day now (friday), soldiers started to shoot and people who want to leave rosewood and some soldiers guard peoples home and say that they are under "special quarantene measurements" even if the whole town is locked up they still lock people in their homes too

and there are bearly any people on the streets, just one day before the streets were full of people

Yes it does do that - but there's also some people claiming it makes it so you can 'survive' a bite
if you want the zombie virus to be non-lethal I think you can change the way the virus transmission works, like if you set to saliva only bites do it, not lacerations or scratches. not 100% sure but I thought I read about somebody doing that

Yea - there's "Saliva Only" "Blood and Saliva" "Everyone's Infected" or "None" but I don't quite get why "everyones infected" would make bites non-lethal when "none" already exist? But that's what came up when I googled it
You should start from January 6. Since it's only been 2-3 days since January 6, there are speculations the next patch update ETA is around January 23
yeah it wouldn't make sense for you to be immune to bites on the everyone's infected setting but who knows how it really works

Iirc the Thursdoids existed to give us some sort of update/activity updates while we waited for the new build. The new build is out - so it may be that they feel no need for them anymore. Instead they'll just release patch notes as updates drop.

There's the current health of your engine (what makes it red vs green) but then there's a second stat you see when you click on the engine in the mechanics menu. This stat also has an affect on the start frequency of your engine. So if you're talking about the engine condition being at 80%, but your engine quality is like 10 that's going to suck always.
Ohhhhh I understand now. Went to check my other vehicles and the highest quality is at 81. My Supra has 82% engine condition but 33 engine quality lmao. No wonder

in B42 its also just very clear where the invisible line between a "rural" and "urban" area goes, because one of them has zero zombies, the other has way too many condensed closely together imo compared to b41 where the transition was more smooth

I always base out in the middle of nowhere and have only been attacked by very small groups of zombies ever so idk, i just never had any issue with the previous zombie heatmap and realistically some zombies would always wander off into the wilderness

Gotcha that makes sense then overall. I believe due to the amount of new stuff in the overall loot tables its less likely to have guns appear in normal houses. If you are at riverside I suggest you check the southwest trailer park it might have a few survivor houses.
Most of em were okay, and on lower pop it wasn't the worst problem. But on insane pop, when one farm feild has THOUSANDS of zombies it quickly becomes problematic. Hell sometimes a town was safer than some feilds

Wire from fishtraps makes it renewable resource. Wire turns into barbed wire, barbed wire turns into fences that animals won't be able to break. Unbreakable livestock fence turns into less mental pain.
I'd probs just go for Insanely Rare loot at one point when B42 is more stable and finished, but as long as a huge part of the gameplay is gated behind manuals that do not spawn, it'll be a pain. Humanity did not invent things by reading a manual, but learning and trying

padlocks are useless for single player until NPCs happen

they need for muscle strain to be dependent on your strength instead of a weapon skill
or be at least less dependent on your weapon skill
i play with stout and its too easy a lot of the time
I do think weapon skill is relevant because you can think of it as training those specific muscles

I really hope that the devs aren't just attaching everything they've announced on their unstable roadmap but also listen to the feedback from players

also the way to level up carpentry skill is interesting, but on practice it's just building the same structure that gives you the most xp until you level it
either give us at least a bit of xp when dissasambleing and boost the xp you get when building, or rework it completely

Its more on you if you die to a zombie, but i feel getting killed by humans would be quicker and suckier
it add me thrill, i always thinked a zombie apocalypse somenthing that u gonna "adpt" at certain point while the human nature is alwyas unpredicatble
people moving around and kicking up a storm would be more interesting, having to decide whether or not to risk confrontation with another lone survivor for the sake of partnership or robbery, having to worry about being in a group's zone of control or something- all that kind of shit would be really interesting to see

tbh yeah it'll probably be kinda bs sometimes no matter the implementation, and sometimes will feel unrewarding
I think a campaign would work amazingly with Zomboid honeztly
I can't imagine a world where a player used to having an entire open world to themselves to fuck around in having NPCs with guns around won't ever yield unsatisfying outcomes

it's already encouraging how they gonna move in the world following a personal story
for now i just wait a good balancing in the crafting and more craftable items
even tho NPCs aren’t actively present atm, they’re still a small group of immune survivors (5% iirc) roaming around and looting like our character. I do agree that there should be an increased chance for survivor homes or safehouses with installed generators and farms as time passes on, but then those chances could plummet after the Winter season or something
just also being eaten like the normal players or having their safehouses overunned
would be nice if you could make skull masks out of the different animal skeletons
