Looking for a mentor, Server is working just need tweaking.

Hi all, I'm building a server at the moment, yall all welcome haha. However I was hoping to have a voice chat with one or more people to help guide me through the last stages.

What sort of tweak questions do you have?

Power shut off, zombies options the works. I can't seem to locate them

Generally located in the SandboxVars file in the User/Zomboid/Server folder

Do you have access to that?

Don't even know what that is tbh, but I think I found my problem. I gotta make an admin account and the options I'm looking for are in the admin commands.

That is certainly one way of accessing them. You can either edit the settings through the server files or through the Admin menu

I personally prefer the files, which is also what most admins use, since you can setup the server before it is started

Download the "Mod Manager" mods, once that's done you can go to "Host" option and tweak settings there which is faster than messing around with the individual files

will do, can i also ask how to make an admin character. So ive found my server put all the details in and it works. So then I make another to have that have admin right... but my Admin Password on Nitrado doesnt seem to work or im putting the wrong username in. [admin] So im completly stuck

Also which Do i get the addons for Mod Manager also?

Your admin password for Nitrado and the server password wont be the same, in the server.test file theres a line where you can change the password of the server there, I don't know much about Nitrado as I have a dedicated server running from my computer. The extensions that make your life easier would be; Mod Manager, Mod Options, Load Order Sorter, and the newly released Map Manager.

for me, the admin user and admin password work correctly. have you restarted the server after changing the admin password?

I never changed it, i left it as default

i had to change it and stop and start server!

All fixed, however now im in a pickle. I setup my settings eg: water shutdown, do i need to reset the server for that to take effect? eg: its day 1 and 3hours passed before i made the setting change. Do i need to reset the server for the new settings to take effect? AND in case it doesnt work if the water gets shut off earlier than the settings say can you adjust the settings AFTER its been already turned off? So two questions this time boys haha

A reset is not necessary for that, you can adjust most settings without any resets

I suggest you make sure you edited the Water and Elect ShutoffModifier settings

Because those are the ones that work in MP

Modifier settings, I'll have to double check. Pretty sure I only saw the options time in days until shut off

Ive done them, but what im confused about Is the multiplyer. I Couldnt see the multiplyer for Shutoff. Only in the Admin controls in game i see anything relating the power and water shutoff. Which i set to 2-3months. But ive had a mate do the same thing and the power still came on, on the 14th day

So ive adjusted the settings for Water and power but the options in the ADMIN server setting via in game. But it doesnt state Water or Power multiplyer. Instead the option is a set value of days

the 2nd part of what i said, is I have a friend who owns a server and set the power to be shut off in 6months time however the power went off on day 14

Ok im getting somewhere, So You can see ive set it to 2-3months for shut off. But what does the multiplyer do?

As mentioned, the multiplier is what controls the shutoff in Multiplayer, not the months

The multiplier controls how many days it takes to shut off, by default it is 14 in game days
