They improved performace for what I understood through a system that take better 2d and 3d elements in to account, and they said this should help.
But is also true that there is much code to take in to account.
For example RM 1.5 received several performace tweaks from 1.4, but for various reasons you don't feel it very much and according with some tester performance was reduced form 1.4.
Anyway I think that if B41 work Thant also 42 should...But I leave thr answer to more competent people

With regards to the lighting changes, are there any plans to implement additional graphic options such as gamma adjustment and such? I know a fair number of games also feature some kind of graphic benchmark that allows users to adjust their settings until they line up with the conditions the devs intended their game to be played under (Ie, Hunt: Showdown uses "Adjust settings until logo is barely visible," where the logo is a slightly different shade of black from the background).
I'm probably one of the very few players still playing on a CRT monitor, and I already find myself relying on flashlights in dark situations with B41. And while I'm excited for all the lighting changes, I'm also genuinely worried about how playable things will be with my setup.

PZ is a game about a zombie apocalypse. In the 90s Kentucky, USA. Where you now kill former living humans, where you will kill live NPCs in later builds, doing ungodly horrible things to them or even animals. I'd rather not see the game's quality suffer because some people wants it to lose the authenticity for the sake of "inclusivity" in a game where hell has broken loose.

I don't know how to say this any nicer, but let the mods decide whether it is appropriate to say: Since you use the wording "modern audience", I can recall some few games from recent past that were explicitly made for the "modern audience" according to their developers. And those games no longer exist, or flopped entirely. I'd rather not let PZ end up as those few games because it was made with ideals of a small minority who imagined they are the vast majority.
Now, I also do not think PZ is excluding anyone, it is a game with a story concerning a slightly earlier time period, with the atmosphere and setting matching the "old times".

As this was partially covered already, as I said, I replied in a hurry because I saw the original commenter leave the Discord as soon as he or she got opposition, implying it was indifference and/or acceptance or negligence of sexism because I or other people did not agree with the sentiment. What comes to "modern audience" part, it felt dishonest because the said user gave a strong sense of being part of the hyper-sensitive crowd who sees problems a bit of everywhere (personal perception of mine) so I felt compelled to take part in the discussion as I didn't really feel like censoring completely normal posters for the sake of whatever was the goal there.
Of course, me strongly disagreeing with the user doesn't mean I need or want any sexism, racism or other less desirable aspects of 90s USA to PZ. And yeah, Concord, Dustborn, other games like that that have been discussed online for their lack of popularity. Concord in particular sure was deemed bad because of the gameplay and themes.
Meh, I don't really talk about this kind of stuff especially in PZ discord but was taken aback from the very odd criticism that I did not expect any PZ player to have of what was shown in thursdoids.
Sexism and racism don't need a place in PZ, but in my opinion, if you are okay with murdering, looting, possible animal cruelty (in b42, if animals can suffer from lack of tending to their needs, or can receive wounds from hell, a firefight over ownership of a prized cow!) but a banjo poster is what is a dealbreaker, then I see it odd to play a zombie apocalypse game to begin with.
